Broadcast a message using WifiMCU

Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:21 am

Hi All,

Overview
I am working on a small project which requires all the EMW3165 chips to behave as a client in a station mode. When I run a server for the first time, it will broadcast a message to all the devices in the network. The clients have to read that message and communicate back to the server so that it can be registered on the server.

I have created a server program (in java) using MulticastSocket which broadcast's a datagram (messag) at a specified address and port (let's say 224.0.0.4:9000). If I run a client program in Java, I can read the message being broadcast.

Problem
I am not able to create a client on wifimcu which can read the messages being broadcast by the server. I have gone through the reference documents and tried running sample UDP client programs but it did not help.

Can anyone guide me through this?

Thanks in advance.

Would please post your wifimcu lua scripts here?
It's an easy udp applications in my mind.

A demo using udp broadcast method is shown below(In chinese).

You can check the lua scripts in this link.
I alos update the code in this post( check the udpserver.lua)

The demo shows an app in android send udp broadcast data to wifimcu at port 8089, the udp server will recieve the data and response.

May this help you.
